Food inside KOA is thin. We are five minutes down the highway at Honokohau Harbor: the first real meal after you land, or the last one before you fly out.
No reservation, no changing out of what you travelled in.
Getting here
Driving from KOA, step by step
Leave Kona International Airport and turn left (south) onto Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Highway 19, toward Kailua-Kona.
Drive about 2 miles. You will pass the Natural Energy Lab turnoff on your right.
Turn right onto Kealakehe Parkway, signposted for Honokohau Harbor.
Follow the parkway down to the harbor and stay right toward the small boat harbor. Harbor House is on your right, above the fuel dock.
Park free in the harbor lot, including trailer spaces if you are towing a boat.

How far is Harbor House from Kona International Airport?
About 5 minutes by car, roughly 3 miles south of KOA on Honokohau Harbor. It is the closest waterfront restaurant to the airport.
Is there food at Kona airport itself?
Options inside KOA are limited and mostly pre-security snacks. Most visitors drive the 5 minutes to Honokohau Harbor for a full sit-down meal before or after a flight.
Can I eat here before an early flight?
Yes on weekends. We serve breakfast Friday through Sunday from 8:00am to 10:00am. Monday through Thursday we open at 11:00am for lunch.
Is there parking for a rental car or a boat trailer?
Yes. Honokohau Harbor has a free public lot right outside the restaurant with dedicated trailer parking.
Do I need a reservation?
No. Seating is first come, first served, which makes it easy to stop in around a flight. For parties of eight or more, contact us ahead.
